Behind the Hoardings – Sheffield Unwrapped

A spotlight on two key city centre developments.

At our last members’ event “Sheffield Unwrapped” in December 2020, our members had an exclusive preview of projects changing Sheffield’s centre.

Not everything our members see gets shared externally, but we think it’s important to show a wider audience what’s going on in the region. There’s a real focus on development in 2021, and our members are at the forefront of that. The city region is regenerating at pace. It should inspire confidence in the city and the region to see just how much is planned – and already under way.

Joe Herridge, part of the S-PA Member Engagement Group and co-ordinator of Sheffield Unwrapped, said: “The S-PA’s aim is to make Sheffield greater, better and more beautiful and there are countless developments furthering that aim across the region.

“As the hoarding went up around Kangaroo Works, and the structure started to rise up behind the retained façade on Isaac’s House, both projects gained a lot of member interest.  Therefore, the time felt right to showcase these developments at one of our regular member meetings.

“The videos were very well received, so we’re glad they’re being shared more widely. It’s not every day you get to go ‘behind the hoardings’ and see unfiltered views before a project is complete.”
